The Himoriwabi Samue II is a homage to traditional Japanese clothing worn by Zen monks during Zazen meditation. Designed and woven for maximum comfort & breathability to help you relax and achieve evenness of mind.

Our version of the samue was intended to be so comfortable and luxurious that you could even wear it to sleep. We wanted to create a samue that people could wear as loungewear in their homes while carrying out daily activities to spark that reminder to live mindfully.

Samu is the participation in the physical work needed to maintain the Zen monastery. All the chores around the temple like chopping wood or sweeping are called Samu. This practice is done with concentration and silence, one step at a time. Many owners of our Himoriwabi Samue II put Samu into practise in their own homes by engaging in daily tasks like cooking and cleaning with deep concentration and mindfulness. Everything becomes practical and there is no separation between meditation and activity. In the kitchen, the colours of the vegetables become more vibrant, oil sizzles audibly in the pan, and an array of aromas fill the air. If you already own a Samue, we encourage you to try it out for yourself.
