How It's Made
- Our 16 Step Process -
Engineered for moisture regulation, exceptional temperature control, and luxurious softness.
-
Harvest — We select mature mōsō bamboo at peak moisture content, for fibres with natural strength and resilience.
-
Sort & select — Only the finest culms are kept; the rest are set aside, so every batch starts from the best raw material.
-
Strip & separate — The stalks are opened to expose the long inner fibres, the part prized for softness and durability.
-
Mechanical fibre extraction — Fibres are drawn out, gentler on the planet, stronger in the cloth.
-
Heat purification — Impurities are lifted with controlled heat, carefully calibrated so the fibres are never damaged.
-
Alkaline cure (24 hours) — A full day-long cure improves the fibre's thermal properties and leaves a smoother surface.
-
Mechanical combing — Fibres are cleaned and combed to draw out the longest, finest strands — the foundation of the Eversoft handle.
-
Gentle bleaching — Inspired by the traditional Wazarashi method, this stage takes three times longer than usual, and rewards the patience with softer, smoother fibre.
-
Carding to thickness — Fibres are carded to a precise, consistent thickness, ready to be spun.
-
Proprietary spinning — Our spinning process runs to over 60 steps, much of it by hand, twisting the fibres into a fine, even yarn.
-
Elastane blending — A touch of elastane (5%) is plied in for gentle stretch and lasting shape, without losing the natural feel of the bamboo.
-
Knitting the cloth — The yarn is worked into our signature Eversoft Bamboo™ fabric — breathable, weightless, and quietly resilient.
-
Washing & dyeing — Colour is set under carefully controlled conditions to protect the fibre and minimise water and waste.
-
Laser cutting — Each panel is measured and cut with laser precision, for a cleaner fit and almost no offcut waste.
-
Hand-sewn & reinforced — Assembled and reinforced by experienced craftspeople — a stage that alone can take up to three days per piece.
-
Finished & inspected — Every Samue is washed once more, steamed, pressed, and checked by hand before it's folded, packed, and sent to you.

How To Choose Your Size
Finding Your Fit
The samue was born as a garment of movement — worn by artisans and monks who needed ease to work, rest, and breathe. Ours keeps that spirit.
Rather than a strict, tailored fit, it's cut to drape softly and adjust to you, so choosing your size is really about choosing how you like to feel.
Made to adjust
The wrap-style top ties to your preferred closeness, the waistband is fully elastic, and our Eversoft Bamboo™ fabric carries a natural, gentle stretch.
Between them, the Samue settles comfortably across a wide range of bodies. One reason it's offered as a single unisex cut from XS to 3XL.
Choose by the feeling you want
True to size — take your usual size for the intended relaxed, easy drape.
Closer to the body — size down for a neater, more defined line.
Room to move and layer — size up for a generous, enveloping fit, or if you like to wear it over other layers.
Still deciding?
We're glad to help you choose. Reach out with your measurements and how you like to wear your loungewear, and we'll point you to the right size, with easy exchanges should you wish to try another.
Care Instructions
The Art of Keeping Your Samue
A samue was made to be lived in. Worn while you work, rest, and move through the quiet hours of the day.
Cared for simply, our Eversoft Bamboo™ fabric rewards you by becoming softer and more yours with every wash. In the spirit of kaizen, small and consistent care is all it asks.
Wash cool, wash kind.
Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cool to warm water, no hotter than 40°C, with similar colours.
Turning the Samue inside out shields the outer weave and keeps the finish looking new for longer.
Dry away from heat.
Give the Samue a gentle shake, reshape it, and hang or lay it flat to dry in the shade. Our fabric holds its shape and stretch best when kept away from harsh heat and direct sun.
If you prefer to tumble dry, use a cool, low setting and remove it while still slightly damp.
Wear more, wash less.
Bamboo is naturally breathable and odour-resistant, so your Samue needs washing less often than you might think. A kindness to both the garment and the planet.
Between wears, air it out and store it folded in a cool, dry place.
