Instructions for Use:
-
Soak the Whetstone: Before use, soak the whetstone in water for 10 minutes to ensure it absorbs enough water. Adding a pinch of salt can enhance the soaking effect.
-
Sharpening Process: Place the whetstone on a stable platform. Start with the 1000-grit side for coarse sharpening, holding the knife at a 15-30 degree angle. Then use the 3000-grit side for fine honing, maintaining the same angle.
-
Maintain Even Pressure: Sharpen the blade using smooth, even strokes. Ensure the slurry produced during sharpening remains on the stone, as it helps achieve a sharper edge.
-
Final Touch: After sharpening, use the 3000-grit side to polish and remove any remaining burrs. Rinse the whetstone with clean water and allow it to dry completely before storage.
